Lure coursing is a sport primarily for sight hounds, but Samoyeds enjoy it, too, as you can see from the photos on this page!!!  Lure coursing consists of chasing an artificial lure through a field on a predetermined course.  It simulates live coursing.

The typical lure course is 600-1,000 yards long. Dogs are expected to focus on the lure and follow the course. They are judged on their overall ability, follow, speed, agility, endurance and enthusiasm.

The American Kennel Club (AKC) website contains more information on lure coursing, as well as a list of upcoming competitions.
